The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Specialist to join our team in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will be tasked with conceptualising, crafting, refining, and disseminating messaging across various platforms (blogs, social media, website content, B2B materials, etc.) and for diverse brands, aimed at championing and advocating for the environmental and energy services provided by the company.

As a Public Relations Specialist with Global Procurement Group, you will collaborate with an international team, playing a pivotal role in spearheading the monumental transformation unfolding within the energy sector. Your communication skills will serve as a catalyst for effecting tangible change for businesses worldwide, propelling us toward a sustainable and cleaner energy future.

What is the job about?

You’ll communicate key messages, often using third-party endorsements, to defined target audiences in order to establish and maintain goodwill and understanding between Global Procurement Group and the public. This will be between organisations, and the general public.

Global Procurement Group is recognized as a thought leader and trusted authority in the energy sector, as a PR Specialist, you’ll monitor publicity and conduct research to find out the concerns and expectations of the organisation’s stakeholders. You will craft and disseminate strategic messaging that highlights our expertise, innovative solutions, and industry insights. Your role will assist in shaping our public image and driving our reputation for excellence in energy procurement and sustainability.

What exactly will you do?

  • Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print
  • Create content calendar, collaborating with the marketing manager to ensure timely delivery of effective content
  • Utilise industry best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission to inspire ideas and content
  • Research and apply for awards, managing the process from start to finish
  • Communicate and cooperate with a marketing team, including content creators, designers, and web publishers
  • Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, press releases, email marketing, videos, case studies, speeches, reports and awards
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement
  • Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities
  • Maintain and update information on the organisation’s websites
  • Manage the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation

What we’re looking for

  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio
  • Impeccable grasp of the English language, including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions
  • Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
  • Strict adherence to the style guides of each company and their policies for publication
  • Good time management skills, including prioritising, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with each client’s requirements and the company’s brand image, products, and services

Bonus points

  • Experience in the Utilities/Energy industry
  • Experience with work management platforms such as Monday.com or Jira
  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress)
  • Fluency in French
