  • HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (flexibility required)
  • LOCATION: Baltic Place, Gateshead
  • HOLIDAYS: 23 days annual leave + bank holidays + December off (fully paid)
  • CONTRACT: Permanent

Job Duties & Responsibilities

The Group is on track to employ over 1,000 colleagues by the end of the 2021 with more ambitious plans for growth in 2021 and is looking for a People Business Partner (PBP) to work with teams, managers, and key stakeholders to help build organisation and people capability, and shape and implement effective people strategies and activities within the organisation.

This is a true people business partner role. Reporting to the Global People Director, The PBP will be key in developing, motivating, and supporting the People Team and partnering with business leaders, and managers to build both people and organisational capability, plan and manage talent, and develop approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engaging with key stakeholders to discuss people challenges.
  • Providing guidance on best people practices.
  • Influence company culture and promote a world class colleague experience at every point. Lead on colleague engagement strategy.
  • Drive length of service and colleague retention.
  • Bringing people expertise and developing solutions to help the business to deliver its strategy.
  • Influencing and building relationships with people around the business.
  • Acting as a local point of people expertise for specialist teams that are implementing new people approaches.
  • Questioning and challenging others to get to the root of issues.
  • Partner with leaders to promote effective working relationships, build morale and increase productivity.
  • To coach, support, up-skill, and mentor our People Managers in the application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the People Team with day-to-day activities providing support for escalated case work.
  • Any other people related duties that are deemed appropriate from time to time.

Experience:

Essential

  • Experience working in an operational, senior, or Business Partner capacity.
  • Business Partners should be proactive team players with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through change.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing people strategies, policies, and process.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and legislations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organisations HRIS and talent management systems.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent preferred, but not essential, providing relevant experience.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
