  • HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (Flexibility Required)
  • LOCATION: Baltic Place, HQ (Gateshead)

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Global Procurement Group (GPG) an international group of companies specialising in energy services and technologies that transform energy behaviour as we move into a low-carbon economy. The group recently posted revenues of £67m for 2020, with the latest accounts detailing growth at 40% p.a. from 2017-2020.
GPG continues to expand rapidly, with operations in Gateshead, Newcastle and Leeds (UK), Paris and Malta (Europe), Texas (US) and Chennai (India). GPG will employ 1,000 heads by the end of the year.
The UK trading arm, Northern Gas and Power, are the UK’s largest energy consultancy. Managing energy assets for over 20,000 clients, we manage over 30TWhs of energy – more than the entire annual consumption of Ireland.

Your Role:

You will be responsible for ensuring we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time.

Working with the senior team and the wider people team to ensure we have a slick candidate experience which drives the best quality candidates. We operate in a very competitive industry and this role will be responsible for ensuring we attract and retain the best people.

This role reports to the People Senior team and has line management responsibility for our Talent Acquisition Managers in the UK, USA, France and Malta.

We have seriously ambitious growth plans, and this role will play a key part in ensuring we achieve these plans. Help us change people’s live.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a Global talent acquisition strategy to attract talent to our organisation.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and development of our ATS.
  • Ensure achievement of recruitment targets globally in the UK, USA, France, and Malta operations
  • Lead and support the Talent Acquisition team towards achieving targets.
  • Monitor performance against targets for the talent team and implement development plans where necessary.
  • Identify and review attraction methods and implement recruitment processes to reach new audiences.
  • Play a key part in employer brand development and ensure our offering remains competitive and attractive within our market space
  • Design recruitment processes that suit the level of role advertised and review success of the process
  • Evaluate candidate experience and make improvements to the recruitment process
  • Use performance and leaver information to identify improvements to hiring process
  • Determine qualification criteria for each position
  • Analyse turnover and retention rates to forecast hiring needs.
  • Define process improvements and outline strategies; execute as both a leader and hands-on member of the team.

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing and managing recruitment strategies.
    • Candidate attraction, onboarding and retention
    • Experience of setting up an ATS.
    • Operating a direct recruitment model
  • Solid understanding of full cycle recruiting.
  • Experience managing a recruitment team and driving performance.
  • Experiences of utilities industry/telesales in a similar capacity
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
