What is the job about?

The Finance Director will be reporting to and working in collaboration with our CEO & Directors to formulate and deliver innovative strategies that grow our profitability as a group and create long-term shareholder value.

The Finance Director will have full accountability to develop and manage all operational elements of financial planning, processes, management and reporting, ranging from treasury and technical accounting through to budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. They will be required to drive the business strategy whilst maintaining Exec focus on core KPI’s and companies performance.

What exactly will you do?

  • Develop, lead, and drive the business financial strategy and the company financial forecasting and budget
  • Report directly to the Executive Board the progress against critical success factors and core KPI’s
  • Accountable for the global financial planning and reporting processes, including reporting, forecasts and statutory statements
  • Deliver data led financial analysis, to deliver clear information to support informed decision making at an Exec level where required
  • Drive investment decisions through strong working capital management processed and benefits forecasting.
  • Evaluate value of customers and global businesses, delivering year on year improvements in return on capital employed
  • Delivering maximum shareholder value through successful corporate sales and purchase transactions
  • Accountability for international group tax planning and accounting, budget controls, transfer pricing and cash flow
  • Fiduciary responsibilities involving leading the teams responsible for financial reports accuracy, internal and external audits, ensuring systems access compliance, and full implementation and respect of all the corporate policies
  • Establish and improve performance measures to assist with investment evaluation and decision making with accurate and timely reporting and analysis of data
  • Leading finance departments and teams across complex diverse geographies and companies
  • Operate in strong alignment with the other supporting functions to constantly improve operational efficiency.
  • Assess financial risks ensuring that the risks are eliminated or minimised where possible.
  • Deliver the statutory duties of a company secretary.
  • You must comply with all policies & procedures.

What we’re looking for

This role is suited for a passionate, dynamic, self-driven and resilient individual with the ability to deliver global financial strategy and plans.

You will have transformation experience and you will be confident to challenge this status quo in line with business strategy.

Having experience embedding robust processes and maintaining regular financial reporting, you will be able to plan and manage, overseeing the day-to-day operation, whilst developing our strategy to help us to continue to grow the business.

Contributing to organisational change and improvements programmes, this key role will suit a proactive and qualified finance professional with experience working both operationally and strategically as a either Finance Director or Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or recognised professional accountancy equivalent.
  • 10 years + of proven finance experience within a senior finance leadership role (international remit preferable)
  • Excellent IT, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross company relationships, whilst driving the agenda with robust financial challenge
  • You will possess strong commercial and business -partnering skills and be comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, delivering at an Executive level.
  • Experience in international tax policies, across multiple tax jurisdictions is essential.
  • Commercially astute, with excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Experience in working with business partners to maximise revenue and profitability.
  • Willingness to travel.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • International financial management experience with international exposure
  • Experience in international development preferable
  • Private equity experience preferable
  • Energy sector experience is desirable but not essential.
