Early Careers Manager

Northern Gas and Power (a subsidiary of Global Procurement Group) is a global energy procurement consultant and is the largest energy consultancy in Europe. We guide businesses of all sizes ranging from SMEs to global organisations in purchasing their energy contracts.

We set up comprehensive strategies for organisations to procure their energy contracts; negotiate contracts with energy suppliers; introduce and operate risk management frameworks; collect, check, and analyse invoices; and calculate organisations’ GHG emissions and carbon footprints.

Our consultancy is supported by our unique ClearVUE platform that brings together and visualises information from a global energy portfolio down to the last detail – helping our clients work towards their net zero goals and ensuring compliance with climate-related legislation.

The opportunity

This role is brand new to NGP and we are looking for an Early Careers Manager to manage our Early Career Channels. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional candidate and client experience for all candidates and hiring managers involved in early careers recruitment. As this is a new role, you will have a hands-on approach and will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of early careers initiatives including: attraction and marketing, virtual assessment days, onboarding, and data monitoring.

What exactly will you do?

• Liaising with both internal and external key stakeholders to understand business challenges to help develop a clear Early Careers strategy
• Working closely with the business leaders, recruitment, people team and CSR to ensure that NGP implements Early Careers programmes that are inclusive and aligned to our future business needs
• Undertaking talent reviews across the various businesses to determine key skill gaps and developing clear strategies on how to attract the talent required
• Working with the People team to optimise recruitment activities specifically for students, apprentices and graduates with the aim of maintaining a pipeline of talent
• Establishing new strategic partnerships with selected schools, colleges, universities, and other selected institutions.
• Working with other partners within the company to design and deliver the company’s Graduate, Internship, Apprenticeship and Work Experience programmes.
• Identifying and communicating the latest developments and trends in education including course structures, funding models and business engagement opportunities
• Maintaining management information and metrics and managing the Early Careers budget
• Accountable for the spending of the apprenticeships levy
• Supporting external communications raising NGP’s profile in the Early Careers community as a valuable partner and an employer of choice
