Job Duties & Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for identifying and closing your own business opportunities as well as converting leads generated by a team of BDE’s. You’ll connect with Industrial and Commercial businesses by making outbound B2B calls and field visits to build, develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospects and suppliers across the UK, Europe and USA. You will be supported by a team of lead generators in order to develop business.

You’ll then close solutions for businesses after making initial contact and delivering proposals– fully supported by the product services teams. You will be businesses’ key point of contact and will develop and maintain relationships across your given region. You will assist clients with their energy management needs, offering bespoke solutions to save customers money, time and reduce their carbon footprint, through flexible purchasing, energy monitoring and energy services.

  • Present unique solutions which save cost, consumption and carbon emissions
  • Cross sell across multiple energy management products/models
  • Understand a potential client’s energy requirements through thorough questioning
  • Meet essential sales targets involving KPIs and daily management support
  • Focus on maximising and closing individual business opportunities
  • Identify sales opportunities and consider best-case solutions to help manage energy
  • Handle objections using up to date market/product information
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with current and future customers
  • Achieve daily/weekly/monthly sales, revenue targets and KPIs
  • Adhere to sales compliance rules – all sales generated in line with our quality standards
  • Complete customer details and sales information to required standard on CRM system
  • Working closely with Team Manager to maximise all opportunities
  • Attend ongoing training and coaching sessions
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales journey
  • Ensure compliance with all company operating policies and procedures

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated, driven and not afraid of a challenge
  • Established background in the energy or software sales space is essential
  • Understand business market and the intricacies of various industries and sectors
  • Proven track record working against daily/weekly/monthly KPIs and targets
  • Fully competent with technology including Microsoft Office suite, CRM and Contact Software
  • Organised, effective, able to independently manage personal workload


  • 2 Years of working in the energy industry is required
  • 2 years B2B Business Development Sales experience is required
  • Energy Monitoring or Software Solutions Sales experience would be beneficial
  • Experience in delivering well above target and working in a fast paced, high volume sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills, developing urgency on calls, and explaining clearly and thoroughly the benefits and business case
  • The ability to present clearly and concisely to a C-Level audience in a board room environment
  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with Carbon Zero targets would be beneficial
