The opportunity

For this role, we are looking to hire a bid writer to support our UK clients. You will be part of our Industrial and Commercial team.

The initial aim of this role will produce exceptional quality tender submissions, tailored to the requirements of each individual client, producing the best possible bid for the company. As a new role in the organisation, this opportunity will explore bid opportunities to additional sectors that NGP can proactively target.

What exactly will you do?

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process specifically within Mid-market. Respond to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs.
  • Pro-actively search for potential bids that Norther Gas and Power can tender for.
  • Manage inputs from key stakeholders. Engage with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Energy Services teams, ensuring buy in at all stages of the bid process.
  • Construct the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation.
  • Sell the services of the Company, mainly in written form (written portrayal of the company must be to the highest professional standard.)
  • Responsible for ensuring tenders are submitted consistently ahead of the deadlines set.
  • Ensure that tenders and business proposals meet all relevant specifications; are in line with the most recent research available and best practice; and are compliant with client requirements.
  • Coordinating responses for ‘RFI – Requests for Information’.
  • You must comply with all policies & procedures.

  • Confident at presenting and explaining complex subjects to a variety of audiences.
  • Proven success with management of high-profile tenders.
  • Proactive attitude.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to drive projects within a cross functional environment.
  • Experience within a bidding/tenders environment and good understanding of best practice bidding methodologies
  • Stakeholder management experience.

Bonus points

  • Experience of public sector frameworks and consortia purchasing mechanisms
  • Experience within the energy or utilities sector
  • Experience working for a large Global company in a similar capacity
  • Skills in InDesign, Power BI and Qorus Document Builder
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint & Other MS Office applications
