We caught up with Chris, Energy Consultant at NGP, to learn more about his progression within the business, what his role involves, and his experience of working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
A: This year, I progressed into an EC role, where I not only source new customers but also close my own deals and work on contract extensions for existing clients to help protect them from rising market conditions. This involves closer collaboration with suppliers and working with my team to develop the most effective strategies for each account.
A: Being part of a fast-growing company is an amazing experience, as there are always opportunities for development, whether that is deepening my expertise in my current role or exploring other positions. The incentives are also a significant benefit, including prizes, additional earnings, team days out, and having December off is always a massive bonus!
A: I was fortunate to join under the guidance of a good friend who excels in her role. With her ongoing support, alongside guidance from the coaching team and management, I had a very successful first year. Since moving into my new role, I have continued to receive support from my team, manager, coaches, and directors. Regardless of role or seniority, everyone is supportive and wants the best for each other.
A: Everyone here is a team player and I’d say that’s why the company has grown to be as successful as it is. Even when you aren’t directly involved in a deal it’s always a great feeling seeing colleagues around you succeed knowing you could be next. A win for the business is a win for us all.
A: I have worked for various companies in different countries in my career and the culture and opportunities at NGP are unlike anything I have seen in the UK. I would definitely say go for it!
