We caught up with Ben Roberts, Pricing Specialist at Northern Gas and Power, to talk about his time with the business, his career progression, and what he has learned during more than seven years in the energy industry.
After more than seven years at Northern Gas and Power, one of the biggest things for me has been the opportunity to continuously grow and progress within the business. During my time here, I’ve developed from working in energy procurement into my current role as a Flexible Purchasing Manager, supporting large UK organisations with strategic energy purchasing and risk management.
What has always stood out to me is the amount you can learn if you’re willing to challenge yourself and put the work in. The energy industry is constantly evolving, particularly over the last few years, so no two days are ever the same. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of businesses, build strong client relationships, and develop a deep understanding of wholesale markets, flexible purchasing strategies, and long-term procurement planning.
Northern Gas and Power has given me the platform to take on new challenges, continue developing professionally, and progress my career over time.
